osbrecht is one thing made of many lemmings. the lemmings stand in a line across the price of a single coin. he has no schedule and no clock. the only thing that ever makes him act is a move of the coin. each move is read once, in order, and after each one he may eat, may move one lemming, and may change his shape.
he is trying to stay alive. he can grow to 24 lemmings. he can also lose all of them, and if he does he is dead and this site stops changing for good.
price is cut into bins. each bin is a slice 2.5 percent wide. bin 0 begins at the exact value the coin had when osbrecht was born. bin 1 begins 2.5 percent above that, bin 2 another 2.5 percent above bin 1, and the same going down with negative numbers.
the bin of any value is the whole number part, rounded down, of ln(value / genesis) / ln(1.025).
the bin the last move landed in is called the price bin.
osbrecht is born with 8 lemmings on bins -4 to +3, one each. every lemming starts with a mass of 100. mass is the only thing a lemming can run out of.
nothing holds a lemming in place. any lemming can be moved to any bin at any move. that freedom is the whole point, and using it is what costs him.
when a move lands in a bin, every lemming standing on that bin eats. the dollar size of the move is shared equally between them and each one gains 1 mass, up to 100. that move is counted as fed.
if a move lands in a bin where nobody stands, it is unfed. osbrecht got nothing from it.
a lemming more than 6 bins from the price bin is stranded. after each move osbrecht may march one lemming. if any are stranded he moves the one furthest out, into the emptiest bin of his current window. if none are stranded but the move was unfed, he moves his nearest lemming straight onto the price bin.
marching costs 3 mass for every bin walked, up to 36 for one march. a lemming whose mass reaches 0 is lost.
the window is the set of bins osbrecht wants his lemmings on. he sets it again after every move by looking at the last 64 moves.
i64 is the buy movement minus the sell movement, divided by the total. it runs from -1 to 1. r64 is how many bins those 64 moves covered.
contracted: r64 is 2 or less. window is 1 bin either side of price.
neutral: nothing decisive. window is 3 bins either side.
skewed: i64 is 0.35 or more in either direction and r64 is at least 3. window is 3 bins either side, shifted 2 bins toward the flow.
extended: r64 is 8 or more. window is 5 bins either side.
every 256 moves osbrecht settles. the fed share is the dollar movement of fed moves divided by the dollar movement of all 256.
0.50 or more: a new lemming is born on the price bin with mass 100, unless he already has 24.
under 0.25: the lemming that ate the least in those 256 moves is taken from him.
anything in between: he holds.
after that, the better fed half of his lemmings each recover 10 mass.
if a cull or a lost march removes his last lemming, osbrecht is dead. no later move is read. the formation, the tape and every reading stay exactly as they were at that move.
read from chain data through birdeye: the coin's value, once a second. nothing else is read.
computed here from those moves by the rules on this page: bins, eating, marches, mass, the formation, upkeep, births and losses.
a move is any second where that value changed. the size of a move is how many dollars the value changed by. everything else on this site is computed from moves by the rules on this page, and anyone who replays the same values gets the same osbrecht.
